Shaadi and Stuff

My love!

The past 2 weeks have been a crazy whirlwind of emotions and activities. Our siblings are either getting married, talking about marriage or involved in marriage activities.

There’s many lessons we learnt from these 2 weeks - Biggest of them being how amazing Allah has made Islam to be. Everything becomes beautiful and simple when you follow the laws of the Lord. The whole process of finding a suitable match and all the way to living a happy married life becomes such a blessing.

Your baba and I are still struggling against the deeply rooted cultures and traditions of our country and people. We are fighting for our families, for them to embrace Islam fully.

And in the process of guiding others and helping them, we are constantly aware of how NOT to do things for you. When you are of the right age, Insha Allah, we plan to make things as easy as Allah has commanded.

Beta, we are tired and broken with the weight of desires that others have. We are sad with the efforts that it goes into pulling people who cling to the bottom. Our loved ones are very ignorant and lost in various ways.

We learn about parenting mistakes when we observe others and deal with them. We are aware of the psychological traps that people confuse with their “ego”.

A time like marriage should be a cause for counting our blessings and steering our compass in the direction of Allah.

We fail to experience it. We fail to understand this.

How do people think? How do they percieve this world and the next? What world do we live in?

The other day I met a couple of people on the bus to Bangalore - they were blissfully unaware of how bad things are for Muslims in our country. Or they pretended to look it I guess.

A time when we are trying to change things internally and within families to die on Tawheed and Taqwa - they insist on living for this world.

Mera bacha, I want to teach you so many amazing things about where you were born. As I watched the trees and rivers go by on my journey, with you in my arms, I realized how much I love my country. India is beautiful and amazing.

But we have a cancer in our country - hatred. Despite all this, I don’t want to infuse hatred in you, for anyone. This is a test.

Filling yourself with negative emotions, does not help. We need to view them and their hate filled words and actions as a test. We should turn to Allah with more taqwa and tawakkul, and bear patience.

He is the Muqallibal Quloob, turner of hearts. He is Al Muhaymin, the one who ensures well being and protection over his creation. We have no refuge other than As-Samad, the eternal refuge. We can ask no one but An-Naseer for help.

I came across this beautiful blog by The Muslim Skeptic - The Best Protection for Our Muslim Children Here a little child consoles his mother, assuring her that the Mu’awwidhatayn (Ayat of protection - 3 Qul, last 2 ayat of Baqarah ) should be enough protection against EVERYTHING for the reciter.

My love, we are living and dying for the sake of Allah. We need to constantly stop and evaluate our lives.

Our days and our nights.
